Binary Modules Merger

Description

This utility that is needed for when you have two or more mods that both edit the same module. Without this tool, this normally crashes the game as the files aren't compatible. With this tool these files get merged and all of the mods can be used at the same time.

For example, right now you cannot use the RSASS mod and the gas mask toggle at the same time as the game will crash on launch. With this tool installed, you can.

Installation instructions

Download Zip & Extract

Place all of the extracted files & folders in your games directory (For example, C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Last of Us Part II\)

Download ndarc & extract

Place "ndarc.exe" inside <game_folder>/module_merger, next to bin_unpacked. For example, if your game path is  C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Last of Us Part II\, after step 2 you should have  C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Last of Us Part II\module_merger. Place ndarc.exe inside that folder, so that you have

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Last of Us Part II\module_merger\ndarc.exe.

This mod is experimental and might not work for all combinations of mods, although it should cover most of them. Some modules, i.e. characters.bin & weapons.bin are already merged by the modloader natively so this mod doesn't touch them. Remember that mods that edit the exact same place inside a module cannot be merged (these would never be compatible, there's nothing this tool can do about that).

This mod edits the mount order inside modloader.ini to ensure that the merged psarc gets loaded last, which is needed for it to work. A backup of the old order (if present) is created within the module_merger directory if you need to recover your old order, although this tool tries to respect your old order and will just append the merged.psarc at the end.

If you encounter problems after installing this tool and would like to temporarily disable it, you can remove  !modules_merger.asi and keep the module_merger folder as-is. Just removing the asi will prevent anything from loading at start up. You will also need to remove the modules_merged.psarc file from your mods folder.
