Through my eyes

With the new nvidia driver, ( begin to works with 1050 and above) you can downsacle your game, so around 720p and push up your graphism and

activate the upscale via the nvidia control panel . ( 1050 ti running max around 30-35 fps). uncheck the luma sharpen, or let it check as you like.

The reshade is very light. I didn't use a lot of settings. There is no lense flare, or depth of field added, it wasn't made to be photo realistic ( i mean as if you were looking through a camera ). We all percieve colors differently, moreover we also have different screen with different settings. I didn't use a probe to calibrate mine. So as the mods says, it's better through my eyes. And maybe will trough yours too.

So to install it, it's quite easy go to https://reshade.me/, download reshade and paste it in your game folder.( It will be easier to uninstall if you don't wan't to use this programm for any reason as you will now precisely where to find it) . So once it is in your game folder run it ( reshade_setup( version).exe )  it will ask you the game you want to run it with, so browse to the folder of the game and select the hunter call of the wild .exe.

Then check the 3 first boxes and qUINT ( i didn't use qUINT but it has a lot of interesting features i might play with later. I just used 4 settings so to say it's lightweight.) It will say you that installation was succesful, you can create a folder for your screenshots and for your presets ( it didn't do it, by default your screnshot will go in the reshade-shaders folder and your preset in the main game folder. - Edit - Nope the screenshots too go by default in the game folder, my bad, anyway you can edit all that in settings when you press home.)

Then dowload my reshade settings file manually, extract it (.ini) to the game folder or to the folder you created for the presets.

And you're good to go.

When you'll launch the game a message will be prompted on the top of the screen, then for the first time it will invite you to follow a quick tutorial.

( At this stage you can create your own preset and play more with the image than the game lol.)

The only thing you have to do to run my preset is to choose it with the arrows in the top left hand corner of the reshade window.

Press home to open or close reshade console.

Edit: V2 available.

Added a very subtle level setting and a slight sharpen. You might like it or not :)

Reworked from sctrach to save some shaders. It takes only two shaders instead of six.

The look is different from the previous ones.

I tried to balance between the vanilla look of the game and the fantasy/cinematic look of v1 and v2. Watched some tutorials, ans spent some hours on photoshop to get a good result that can fit every map. So it's a bit more realistic, colors are a still boosted and shadows too. But not too much, midtones aren't overkilled ( just a bit ^^) image is'nt too bright or too dark (according to me....). And i finally as i said above it just runs 2 shaders; Lut and luma sharpen.

So to install it, if you have the previous versions just paste the content of the folder zipped ( the folder and the .ini file) in your game folder. ( so you can see the difference of the one you prefer.)

If it's the first time you install reshade in this game ( or if you're happy with V3 and want a clean install, that loads quicker ) install it as explained for v1, but only let check standard effect, and sweetfx. Then leave only checked Lut for the standard effect and Luma sharpen in sweetfx. (edit Reshade 4. 8 has been released , you are forced to install all the standard effect, and to only pick up lumasharpen, click on the box of sweet fx until it becomes a black square.  - not my bad -)finish the installation. And then copy the .ini file and the reshade-shaders (this one will update the folder of the textures with my lut) in your game folder. And you are good to go, don't forget to activate my preset when you launch it for the first time^^ )

If you don't like the sharpen filter, or if you run the game without the textures set on max, deactivate it.
