This mod upgrades the Sharps Target Long Range Rifle from its underpowered 218-yard range to a 400+ yard effective killing range, while greatly improving long-range accuracy. Inspired by the real Sharps rifles used for buffalo hunting and long-range target competition, it can now deliver bullseye accuracy out to 1,000 yards, giving the rifle the power, range, and precision its legendary reputation deserves.

A LITTER SHARPS HISTORY:

The Sharps rifle earned its reputation during the American frontier and buffalo-hunting era of the 1800s. Its strong single-shot action could handle powerful black-powder cartridges, while its heavy barrel, excellent sights, and accuracy made it a favorite among professional buffalo hunters. Historical accounts describe Sharps rifles being used against bison at ranges often exceeding 400 yards.

But the Sharps wasn't only a hunting rifle — it became one of the legendary long-range target rifles of its time. Sharps target rifles competed at 800, 900, and 1,000 yards, and in one famous demonstration a shooter using a Sharps Long Range rifle reportedly fired 16 consecutive bullseyes at 1,000 yards.

That long-range tradition continues today through reproduction Sharps rifles and black-powder cartridge competitions. That's why the 218-yard effective range given to the rifle in theHunter: Call of the Wild feels so underpowered compared with its historical reputation. This mod brings that legendary performance back with a 400+ yard effective killing range and the ability to deliver bullseye accuracy at distances approaching 1,000 yards. The Sharps wasn't built to be a 218-yard rifle.It was built to reach across the prairie.
