Animal Population Changer - Revived

Animal Population Changer v2. 4. 1 is compatible with Patch 9. 3 (game version 3331010) released on September 15, 2026 and the and the Intisuyu Peru Hunting Reserve DLC released on June 16, 2026.

Animal Population Changer enables you to modify attributes of animals across all reserves in theHunter: Call of the Wild. Supported modifications include:

- Make an animal a Great One

- Make an animal a Diamond

- Make an animal have a rare fur

- Make a female a male or vice-versa

- Bulk-modify large groups of animals of the same species with any of the above change

- Add or Remove animals from the reserve

This is forked from the source code of the original version and updated to work with newer game versions, including the latest Alberta Hunting Preserve DLC. The code is open-source and available on GitHub.

How to install Animal Population Changer

1. Download the latest release from the Files page

2. Open the . 7z archive (7-Zip is my recommended tool for this)

3. Extract the apcgui folder (includes apcgui.exe file and the _internal folder) to a location where your user has full permissions

- Directory in the user folder works best: C:\Users\<your_name>\apcui

- Desktop and Documents folders on Windows 11 are commonly backed up to OneDrive which can cause errors when modding animals

- Animal Population Changer requires the _internal folder to work as it contains backups and configuration data.

4. Run apcgui.exe

How to use Animal Population Changer

APC should load your save files directory automatically. If you are using a custom saves location, click Files -> Configure Game Path to select the appropriate folder.

1. Select your Reserve from the drop-down list to load the population file

2. Select a Species from the list

3. Configure the desired modifications using the tools on the right

4. Click Update Animals to apply the changes to that species type

5. Repeat steps 2-4 to configure any additional modifications

When you are ready to save the changes:

1. Open the Files tab

2. Click the List Mods button

3. Select the Reserve

4. Click Load Mod to copy the modded population file into the saves directory

What are Parties?

The four "Party" modes perform the following changes. Sliders are percentages:

- Great One Party: Convert eligible animals from all species to Great Ones

- Diamond Party: Convert animals from all species to Damonds

- Random Fur Party: Randomize furs for all animals on the reserve

- Rare Fur Party: Convert animals to have random Rare and Very Rare furs
