The aforementioned heavy weaponry requires N. S. N. Burnham and other ships in the same class to have 360 degree maneuverability, therefore the installation of gyroscopes would be counter productive to the ship's combat role. The long range weapon systems on this ship also boasts an excellent accuracy rating, which makes it the perfect Anti-Ship platform. While assuming the role of "Sniper" in a battlegroup, Burnham-class Heavy Destroyers also have a grid of point defenses and stand-off weapon systems, which consist of RP-X2 CIWS and HP-150 SOWS respectively. The point defense grid, while proven effective on several scenarios, is still inferior to a dedicated Frigate, therefore making solo operations less than ideal for a ship of this class.
