“Dreadnoughts are expensive”, remarked the military planners at Aerial Navy High Command. At once, an order was sent out for the procurement of an effective warship able to be deployed in high numbers, while still retaining good power projection capabilities. Seeking advice, the Aerial Navy enlisted the assistance of its allies. Having learned valuable knowledge concerning the Hawkeye Type 45 Naval Gun, the Royal Sky Fleet recommended its usage due to the high damage and versatility it had to offer, while also able to superfire over other guns. The gun was also cheaper compared to multiple Hawkeye Mk3 Battleship Cannons, and as a result, was selected as the main weapon of choice. Wanting to keep costs down but keep parity with other ships in terms of protection and shielding called for a shortened length compared to other battleships, but keeping the larger beam and draught versus thinner cruisers. Nicknamed “Fleet Battleships” and highly favored in the navy, these warships are designed to operate in groups of 2-4, or provide backup to heavier units in battle when destroyers or cruisers simply don’t pack the desired anti-ship “punch” or “tankiness” of a battleship. Finalizing the design, the Tennessee was put into production and now serves as a fine addition to the Aerial Navy’s arsenal of warships. Packing 4 Hawkeye Type 45 Naval Guns in 4 turrets along the centerline (2 forward, 2 aft) allows for complete coverage around the entire ship and makes for a powerful broadside! However the ship still retains the hallmark couplet of Hawkeye Mk3 Battleship Cannons in the bows for a heavy frontal strike, and 2 Dozen Hawkeye Cruise Missiles placed around the ship for standoff attacks.
