Mare Nostrum - Ancient Warfare & Strategy Conquest Game v 1.0

https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/3931/mare-nostrum One of my favourite games of all time, this is a "light" (but deeply strategical) wargame based in ancient times with an interesting purchase / construction mechanic based on collecting and trading resource cards in matching sets. Most of the artwork is my work, or art cobbled together from various incomplete sources and different variants online. Unit pieces have been replaced from original meeples into better, more detailed playing pieces, also my own work. May be some minor Naming differences between rulebook and this version, as the published English version was in actuality a poor translation of the original German version. I have corrected where I saw fit or where it seemed more appropriate to rename to keep in line with other board game naming conventions. "Political Leader" (Staatsman) --- is now ---> Statesman "Director of Commerce" (Kaufmann) --- is now ---> Merchant "Military Leader" (Heerfuehrer) --- is now ---> General "Taxes" (Steuern) --- is now ---> Coinage Additionally player mats have been added, and a mat for the Wonders / Heroes. These player mats are designed for the common/simple (and far better) house variants on the original game that include: - Heroes / Wonders are purchased and drawn at random (instead of players being able to choose) - Merchant may choose between 0 and 6 resource cards to be traded in a round (this is ambiguous in the original rules) - Players may only have up to 2 (additional) Heroes / Wonders at a time, these may be discarded if another is purchased and the player wishes to replace them.
