(2.1) Hardware Icons Always Visible

Keeps your hardware icons visible on the screen at all times. You'll always know which wares are activated.

If you are using the Ironman mod (which makes your hotbar smaller), use the Ironman Compatible file.

Unzip this and place the .pak file in the folder where System Shock's main .pak file resides:

<installation directory>\System Shock Remake\SystemShock\Content\Paks

This is incompatible with mods that replace:

Blueprints\UI\HUD\Widgets\WIDGET_PlayerHud.uasset

Blueprints\UI\HUD\Widgets\WIDGET_PlayerHud.uexp

Known issues:

• []Hardware buttons can be hovered while the game is paused, but this is not really a huge problem.[/]

  For modders who want to do this on their own: (ONLY FOR PRE-1. 2)

  • []Find the CanvasPanelSlot exports that correspond to the hardware icon panels. This should be Export 188 (left side) and Export 189 (right side). Go to their offsets and flip the sign of the Left value. 188's Left should be set to 80, and 189's Left should be set to -80.[/]

    []Go to PANEL_RightHardware and set its Visibility to ESlateVisibility::Visible (from ESlateVisibility::Hidden).[/]

    []In a hex editor, open the .uexp file and set 0xE6CF-0xE6D2 to: 00 00 80 3F (float value 1. 0; its default value is -1. 0). This essentially disables the position animation of the panels when opening the MFD.[/]
