  Employee Job Priorities

  Every employee gets their own ordered list of jobs.

  For example:

  Cashier → Restocker → Storage

  This employee will primarily work as a Cashier. If no cashier work is needed, they can help Restock. If neither job has useful work available, they can fall back to Storage.

  Each employee can have a completely different setup.

  Supported jobs:

    Jobs can also be individually disabled for specific employees.

    This allows you to build actual roles instead of assigning everyone to one permanent vanilla job.

    Demand-Aware Automation

    StaffFlow does not simply cycle through your priority list.

    It checks whether useful work for a job currently exists.

    • []Cashiers react to checkout demand.[/]

      []Restockers react to available restocking work.[/]

      []Technicians react to broken furniture.[/]

      []Security reacts to thieves and stolen products.[/]

      []Idle employees can fall back to lower-priority jobs instead of standing around.[/]

      This means a high-priority job does not automatically trap an employee there when nothing needs to be done.

      Online Order and Manufacturer are handled more conservatively because interrupting active work in those jobs can interfere with their current task.

      Job Switching Rules

      Every job can define when an employee is allowed to leave their current work.

      The employee only changes jobs when they are genuinely idle.

      Best for jobs you do not want interrupted.

      After Current Step

      The employee can switch at supported safe points after finishing the current part of their task.

      This gives faster reactions without constantly abandoning work halfway through.

      Allows faster switching when the job becomes necessary.

      Immediate does not override the actual job priority order. A lower-priority Immediate job will not automatically beat more important work.

      StaffFlow also uses cooldown and safety rules to prevent employees from rapidly bouncing between jobs.

      Smarter Security Guards

      Security receives special handling.

      Once a Security employee has committed to an active thief chase:

      • []Normal automatic job switching is suspended.[/]

        []Other job priorities cannot repeatedly interrupt the chase.[/]

        []The employee is allowed to continue using the game's normal Security behavior.[/]

        Once the Security task is finished, StaffFlow resumes normal employee management.

        This prevents Security guards from constantly reconsidering their job while trying to catch a thief.
