The History of the Game Gear

Work on the console began after the release of the Game Boy in 1989. At that time, the development of the device was codenamed Project Mercury. The goal was to be able to offer a product superior to the Nintendo Game Boy on the market.

The system was released in Japan on October 6, 1990, in North America and Europe in 1991, and finally in Australia in 1992. The recommended retail price at the time of launch was 299 DM (German Mark). Similar to Nintendo's Game Boy, which was sold with the game Tetris, the Game Gear was sold in a bundle with the game Columns.

Despite its technical superiority, the Game Gear failed to gain a significant market share, which was due to the enormous popularity of the Game Boy and a number of disadvantages compared to it.

Looking back, the Game Gear is largely considered a failure, but it did generate a modest profit for SEGA.

I loved this system because you could play Sonic The Hedgehog, one of the best console games in my opinion ;)

Extract the zip archive into the directory: \Supermarket Simulator\BepInEx\plugins\MoreProducts\

If you have problems, start your savegame, buy the licenses (note, you cannot buy the items yet!), save the game, go back to the main menu and load your game new.
