Custom Products Loader Texture Optimiser

Main features

Reduces the size and resolution of oversized textures used by Custom Product Loader (CPL).

When you have a large collection of custom products, CPL can end up processing a large number of high-resolution textures. Many of these textures can be significantly larger than necessary for their use in-game.

This mod automatically detects oversized CPL textures and resizes them to more reasonable dimensions, reducing their file size while maintaining their original aspect ratio.

How it works

The optimiser waits 130 seconds after the game starts before beginning its work. This gives CPL time to finish its initial product loading instead of competing with CPL during the initial loading process.

It then scans the CPL product directory for supported image files. Only textures belonging to CPL's icon and object-texture directories are processed.

Backups

Before changing a texture, the plugin creates a backup of the original file.

Backups are stored in:

BepInEx/backup_textures/CPL/The original backup is never overwritten, so you retain a copy of the original texture.

Benefits

This mod does not replace Custom Product Loader.

It does not modify your product definitions or models. Its purpose is to optimise oversized image textures used by CPL. Textures that are already within the configured limits are skipped.

Installation

Extract the contents of the archive into your BepInEx directory.

The plugin should be located at:

BepInEx/plugins/CPLTextureOptimiser/CPLTextureOptimiser.dll The included SkiaSharp libraries should be in the same plugin directory.

Start the game normally.

Apart from this, I have also been working on a mod that takes the specific optimisation of CPL's long loading time further, going from textures to obj/mesh and assets. I personally have a lot of products and had a loading time of about a minute. I reduced this now to about 15s already. If anyone would be interested in this let me know, and I might work on it further to publish it.
