An in-game world map and minimap with configurable POI markers, category filters, hotkeys, and per-save exploration tracking.

Overview

SN2 POI Map adds a usable world map and minimap directly to Subnautica 2.

It is designed for players who want better navigation, configurable points of interest, and a convenient way to track exploration without leaving the game.

The mod includes a full map view, configurable minimap, player-position tracking, category-based POI filters, fog-of-war exploration, configurable controls, and optional integration with SN2ModSettings.

Main Features

  Open a large map while playing, with support for zooming and panning.

  Adjust the minimap’s size, screen position, margins, opacity, and visibility.

  []Points of interest

  Display useful locations directly on the map.

  []Category filters

  Enable or disable POI categories so the map only displays the information you want.

  []Fog-of-war exploration

  The map can gradually reveal as you explore the world.

  []Per-save exploration tracking

  Fog-of-war progress is stored separately for each save game. Starting a new game creates a new exploration state instead of reusing the previous save’s map progress.

  []Configurable player marker

  Adjust the marker size and select from multiple color presets.

  []Configurable hotkeys

  Controls are available for the large map, minimap visibility, POI categories, zooming, and panning.[/]

  Default Controls

  • []M — Open or close the full map[/]

    []H — Hide or show the minimap[/]

    Additional category, zoom, and pan controls can be configured through SN2ModSettings or the included configuration file.

    Requirements

      []SN2ModSettings — Recommended[/]

      SN2ModSettings allows the map and minimap options to be changed through the in-game Mods settings menu.

      The map remains usable without SN2ModSettings. Settings can instead be changed through the configuration files included with the mod.

      Installation

      • []Install UE4SS for Subnautica 2.[/]

        []Download and extract SN2 POI Map.[/]

        []Place the complete SN2-POI-Map folder inside the UE4SS Mods directory.[/]

        []Launch Subnautica 2.[/]

        Installation folder:

        Subnautica2\Subnautica2\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods

        The final folder should be:

        Subnautica2\Subnautica2\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\SN2-POI-Map

        Do not place only the individual files directly inside the Mods directory. Keep the included folder structure intact.

        Multiplayer Information

        Cosmetic/local: works for anyone regardless of what others have installed. (At least what has been tested so far)

        SN2 POI Map is primarily a local user-interface and navigation mod. It does not change recipes, progression, creatures, resources, or host-controlled gameplay systems.

        • []Each player who wants to use the map or minimap should install the mod.[/]

          []POI filters and minimap settings are local to each player.[/]

          []Fog-of-war and exploration progress are not synchronized between players.[/]

          []Other players do not need the mod for your local map and minimap to operate.[/]

          Experimental multiplayer-marker notice:

          The Show Other Players setting is present but other-player markers are not functioning correctly in Version 1. 0. 0. Keep this option disabled for now.

          Functional multiplayer markers are being investigated for the first update.
