Elena's power is probably the hardest to spot but also one of the oldest in the history of civilization: Compassion. It doesn't sound that bad on paper. If your government feeds you, helps you out with your bills from time to time, or perhaps gets one or even TWO of your kids through college debt free, then boy howdy that's a good government right there right? Right??? Most governments around the world do at least these things... Are we in a world of peaches and cream? Of course not. Sometimes all we need to bend the knee is the promise that our needs will be met.
