Notebook Mod — In-Game Notes for Stranded Deep

Take notes without tabbing out of your game. Notebook Mod adds a simple in-game notebook interface that lets you create, edit, and save notes directly inside Stranded Deep. Open the notebook anytime with N and keep track of islands, resources, coordinates, plans, or anything else during your survival run.

Installation

Install Unity Mod Manager

• []Download and extract Unity Mod Manager anywhere on your PC. [/]

  UnityModManager.exe[/]

  []Select Stranded Deep from the game list [/]

  []Set the game path to your Stranded Deep installation folder

  D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Stranded Deep[/]

  []Click Install

  [] Use the Doorstop method if prompted [/]

[]Launch the game once and confirm the UMM overlay appears

Install Notebook Mod

• []Download the latest

  NotebookMod.zipfrom the Files tab [/]

  []Open Unity Mod Manager [/]

  []Go to the Mods tab [/]

  []Drag-and-drop the zip into the window

  or click Install Mod [/]

  []The mod should appear as:

  NotebookModwith a green status indicator[/]

Start or load a game — the notebook is active immediately.

Manual Installation

Extract the mod zip into:

<Stranded Deep Folder>\Mods\NotebookMod\

  []Click + New Note to create a new note. [/]

  []Select a note by clicking its name in the left panel. [/]

  []Delete a note using the X button next to its name. [/]

  []Click Save to save your changes. [/]

  []Click Cancel to discard unsaved changes. [/]

  []Close the notebook using the Close button or by pressing N again. [/]

Additional Information

• []The notebook window is draggable — drag the title bar to move it. [/]

  []Notes are automatically saved when switching between notes or closing the notebook with unsaved changes. [/]

  []The game is paused while the notebook is open. [/]

  []Player movement and camera controls are disabled while editing notes.[/]

All notes are stored locally in:

Mods\NotebookMod\saves\notes.jsonYour game save files are never modified.

Known Limitations

Watch UI may appear after closing the notebook

Stranded Deep uses the Rewired input system, which operates independently from Unity's standard input pipeline.

Because of this, pressing the F key (watch shortcut) while the notebook is open may cause the watch to briefly appear after closing the notebook.

This is a known limitation related to how Rewired buffers inputs internally. The watch disappears automatically after a moment and does not affect gameplay.

The notebook window currently conflicts with map dragging behavior when opened inside the cartographer. Future updates aim to improve input handling so the notebook can be moved normally with the left mouse button without interfering with the map controls. [/]
