Crab Performance Pack

Is your PC struggling to run Stranded Deep? The Crab Performance Pack is a performance mod built to keep low-end and older PCs running smoothly while surviving the open ocean. Its goal is simple: cut stutters, optimize massive water and island rendering, and squeeze out extra FPS without wrecking the game's visuals.

(This mod is forked and adapted from my Sherma Performance Pack for Hollow Knight: Silksong, rebuilt for Stranded Deep's engine and quirks.)

✨ Main Features:

• []Real-Time Resolution Scaling (Fake FSR): Change the game's actual render resolution on the fly with keyboard shortcuts — the biggest FPS lever on weak/integrated GPUs.[/]

  []Ocean & Ceto Optimization: Lowers Ceto ocean mesh resolution, reflections, and FFT options, or enables Super Flat Water mode to completely eliminate heavy wave, foam, and chop calculations.[/]

  []Foliage & Environment Toggles: Freeze palm trees, leaves, and grass wind movement (AFS), reduce camera draw distance/far clip plane, and disable object reflection probes.[/]

  []Smart Particle Management: Scans, reduces, or disables ambient particles (smoke, dust, leaves, debris) while keeping gameplay-critical survival particles intact.[/]

  []Post-Processing & Quality Overrides: Fine-grained control over shadows, textures, lighting, LOD, anti-aliasing, ambient occlusion, bloom, and motion blur.[/]

  []VSync & Frame Rate Control: Force VSync off and set a custom target frame rate independent of the game's own settings menu.[/]

  []FPS Counter: Lightweight, configurable position and size overlay, toggle with F10.[/]

  []Profiles & Quick Menu: Switch instantly between Quality, Balanced, Potato, or Custom presets. Use the in-game F9 Quick Menu to flip toggles and manage settings without digging through BepInEx's config screen.[/]

    []F5: 85% render scale.[/]

    []F6: 100% — native resolution.[/]

    []F9: Opens the Quick Menu (Profiles, Toggles, FPS settings, Ocean/Particle management).[/]

    []F10: Toggle FPS Counter visibility.[/]

    ⚠️ IMPORTANT: Resolution presets (F2–F6) mainly help if your bottleneck is GPU. If your hardware is heavily bottlenecked by physics or island generation, lean on the ocean, foliage, and particle toggles instead.

    Requirements: BepInEx 5. 4+ installed.

      📖 About this mod

      Crab Performance Pack is forked and adapted from my Sherma Performance Pack for Hollow Knight: Silksong. Same core idea — squeeze weak/integrated GPUs through games that bring them to their knees — rebuilt from scratch to fit Stranded Deep's heavy ocean physics, island vegetation, and rendering pipeline.

      This is still active work: this build is stable and playable day-to-day, and future updates will keep improving GPU-side optimizations and fixing edge cases as they come up.

      ⚠️ A quick heads-up: This is early beta and I work alone, so testing across different hardware configurations is limited. If something doesn't behave as expected, let me know — bug reports genuinely help me prioritize fixes.
