Roya Hashimi

She was cargo before she was a survivor. Packaged in white silk, stamped with a dowry manifest, shipped across the void to a man whose name she had practiced saying until it felt like a bruise on her tongue. The Arkad IV was not her ship. It was her transport, her cage, her corridor to a life she had never been asked to choose, and when it broke apart, the first thing she felt was not terror but relief, sharp and shameful, blooming in her chest like a flower made of glass. She ate strange fruits and learned which roots would not kill her. She built a shelter from the hull of the ship that was supposed to deliver her to a stranger's bed. This new world made her ravenous for experiences long denied to her. She has stopped wearing white, the dirt under her nails the most honest thing in her life's experience. She was promised to a man she will never meet, but the sky made a different promise on the day it fell. Version: 0. 00-004
