Dogs are friends, not food! Removes the ability to Hunt, Slaughter, and Butcher dogs. Additional Tweaks Forever Home: Taming retaliation chance reduced to 0% Loyal Companion: Taming activates "Good Dog" perk: every week dog produces manure (small amount) and "fetches" sticks & slippers (light shoes) No Puppy Mills: Lower reproduction rate from 10% to 6% If It Barks Like a Dog: Slight reduction to time required to observe species Canis Minor: Scales down newborns even more to 25% Good Genes: Increased health from 50 to 100 & lifetime from 5-8 months to 3-4 years + Updated breed and observed description texts Tip: You can dismantle the shoes for cloth resources if/when you end up with too many :-) Some FYIs In the Taming UI, I replaced the icon but was unable to remove the button completely. However clicking it will do nothing. To avoid accidental attacks by a drafted human, I changed combat group to "Human." This means you'll get a warning any time a dog (even untamed) is attacked by another animal. I play with limited combat so they are not fully tested in combat scenarios. As I play more I'll update and address bugs, but for now I couldn't stand the stress of seeing SLAUGHTER every time I clicked a dog lol Can still be killed (by other animals), but cannot be butchered for meat Goals for future updates: Add: Happiness buff for sleeping in same room as a tamed dog, increases if bonded Add: Additional happiness buffs for things like hunting or fighting alongside dog Fix: Stagger and randomize production drops so for example the shoes only drop once a week, but manure drops every day Fix: Replace the Taming UI icon with the same greyed out X and error sound as when an animal cannot be trained or pet Fix: Turn Combat Group back to Dogs and find alternate way to prevent drafted attacks Fix: UI updates for controller/steam deck
