📋 About This Mod
Warmind - AI Behaviour Fleet Engagement + War Targeting Vanilla AI empires declare war and then... stand around. They pile their fleets over the homeworld, send a single weak squadron to poke at your border, and never pick a real target to actually take. Wars fizzle out at the status-quo timer with nothing conquered, nothing lost, nothing that mattered. Warmind is a small, focused defines mod that pushes the AI to fight with intent — to consolidate its fleets, commit when it holds the advantage, and go after objectives that mean something. Fleet Engagement Consolidate, don't fragment. The AI keeps its fleets together instead of feeding them into your guns one squadron at a time. Engage when it holds the advantage. Removes vanilla's built-in over-caution, so the AI commits when it is genuinely stronger instead of waiting forever for perfect odds. Accurate, not self-deceiving. Enemy and own fleet strength are estimated at face value — no artificial timidity, no reckless overconfidence. War Targeting Hold the chokepoints. Defending its own upgraded starbases and chokepoint systems becomes a top priority. Go for real objectives. Planets, controlled systems and enemy capitals are weighted as genuine war goals instead of afterthoughts. Intervene - but not suicidally. The AI steps in when its own chokepoint is attacked, without blindly chasing your fleet across the map or throwing ships into your heavily upgraded stations. What this does - and what it doesn't This tunes the AI's war decisions: which targets it values, when it commits, how it estimates strength. It cannot rewrite the hardcoded parts of the war AI - it still won't jump reinforcements with perfect timing or coordinate flawlessly across systems. Warmind makes the AI fight with more purpose. It does not make it fight like a human. If you are expecting a grandmaster opponent, this is not that - no defines mod is, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something.
