📋 About This Mod
For 4.3–4.4 ✅ Description Adds the basic combat computer tech to all empires at the start of a new game via an invisible event, because basic ship behavior shouldn't need to be researched. Works for both mechanical ships and bioships (and works if you don't have BioGenesis). Affects AI empires, but doesn't seem to have any affect on pre-FTLs or marauders. Fallen Empires already have the tech, so it doesn't affect them. Compatibility Other mods: Compatible with everything that doesn't change the tech name of basic combat computers. While this works fine with NSC and Spacefleet Tactica, I don't think it's necessary to use this mod with those because they already have basic ship behavior options at game start. Load order: Doesn't matter. Checksum/achievements: Not compatible with achievements. Current games: Can be removed mid-save without issue, but the unlocked combat computers will stay. The event only runs automatically at game start, but you can safely add the mod mid-save and run it with the following console command: event basic_computers.123 Multiplayer: Untested Game version(s): Made for 4.3, but it shouldn't need an update unless Paradox changes how events function or change the name of basic combat computers in the code. Vanilla Files/Values Edited None! The Code Feel free to use this mod how you see fit. My code and ideas are now yours, just give me credit where credit is due.
