📋 About This Mod
Immersive rebalanced stronger Eve gameplay overhaul with stamina system, dynamic stat effects that scale off damage and stamina condition, no instant death (falls, environment hazards), new and aggressive enemies, reworked ranged weapons,
2x stamina regen variant available in downloads
This gameplay mod makes Eve feel stronger and more durable while balancing many aspects of the game for some challenge. It aims to make game feel more epic and fair, not more difficult—more roleplay and less about player agency.
The main variant of this mod slows down combat pace and makes gameplay more deliberate. A dynamic stamina and health system provides both mechanical and visual feedback on the player's condition for better immersion. Enemy HP and damage at early, mid, and late game are evened out, and upgrades give smaller bonuses to lower the differences between New Game and New Game+.
A variant that removes the stamina and health condition system is available, but it's not often updated because a lot of components need to be adjusted.
Tested with NG+ but playable with New Game.
Recommend Hard mode for a fair challenge (Enemies +50% stats). If the game is too easy, remove gears and spines. In Boss Challenge, play to remove all weapon/tumbler upgrades and healing items.
Use the tumbler or heal grenade to recharge Burst Gauge.
So sorry for so many updates...
1. Stamina system
- Reimplemented Beta Gauge into stamina. Used in attacks and movement.
- Stamina affects movement speed in 3 stages; normal, low, and depleted stamina.
- Attacks by stronger enemies like bosses cause accumulative stun damage that is reflected in the stamina bar. Recovers over ~10 seconds.
2. Semi-dynamic stat effects based on damage and stamina
- Health and stamina condition affect total Beta Gauge, movement speed, sprinting ability, vision, and knockdown resistance.
- Eve resists most knockdowns when HP is above 50%
There are still some bugs but they happen so rarely that it's difficult to replicate and debug.
3. Removed instant death/instant kill traps.
- Most instant kill traps removed and do damage instead (e.g. grinder, laser, long range cannon).
- Instant death from higher falls removed and does damage instead.
- Fire damage significantly reduced.
- Enemy instant kill moves/skills removed.
4. Reworked range weapons
- Energy weapons use Burst gauge and recharging ammo, projectile weapons use ammunition.
- Shotgun changed to fire a long range energy bolt.
- Blaster fires shorter pulses. Stage 2 and 3 overcharge damages Eve slightly for more damage. Stage 3 knocks down many enemies and pierces (physical) shields.
- Slug cannon projectile range increased, decreased shield damage.
- Stinger ammo significantly decreased and damage greatly increased, knock down/back ability on weaker enemies.
- Explosive ammo is 2 with very high damage. Can knock down or stun bosses.
- Overall, ranged weapons do less damage. Why use hand-to-hand combat if ranged weapons were so much better?
- Ranged weapons also do stamina damage now.
5. Reworked attack combos and skills
- All Eve's sword attacks and kicks now do additional effects such as stamina damage, stun, and knock down. Delay added between swings to simulate deliberate power.
- Tempest Strike swapped with back move counter kick for more variety, which can knock down bosses with low shields and does very high temporary stamina damage to combo with wrestling.
- Charged attacks all have stronger knock down and piercing (damage enemies with shields or guards but often can be parried).
- Simplified Shield Breaker animation (less floaty).
- Basic combo attack sequence changes; first strong attack swapped with turning hook kick.
- Fourth stage 속공 EX uses Burst Gauge to do more damage and knock down medium enemies.
- Link attacks (Eve and enemies) now do damage for each strike or wrestling move corresponding to each technique in the animation.
- QTE challenges and getting wrestled drain Beta Gauge.
- Overdrive additionally regenerates stamina while draining HP.
- Many moves now damage enemy stamina, not just parries. Wrestling attacks are more easily triggered.
- too many to list and remember...
6. Reworked Parry and Dodge
- Removed standard parry and blocking for boss enemies except for fast, weak multi-strike combos.
- Can parry almost all attacks from all enemies.
- Invincibility removed from dodge. This makes dodges useful for evading powerful single attacks but not combo attacks.
- Dodge drains Beta Gauge.
- Successful parries drain Beta Gauge.
- Guarding drains Beta Gauge when held up.
7. Reworked AI
- Most enemies wait time reduced to 1/10 except for Raven and bosses that use significant stamina in combos, backing off to rest/recharge stamina.
- Counter wrestling moves by enemies now d
