Immersive Stronger Eve Gameplay Rebalance

2x stamina regen variant available in downloads

This gameplay mod makes Eve feel stronger and more durable while balancing many aspects of the game for some challenge. It aims to make game feel more epic and fair, not more difficult—more roleplay and less about player agency.

The main variant of this mod slows down combat pace and makes gameplay more deliberate. A dynamic stamina and health system provides both mechanical and visual feedback on the player's condition for better immersion. Enemy HP and damage at early, mid, and late game are evened out, and upgrades give smaller bonuses to lower the differences between New Game and New Game+.

A variant that removes the stamina and health condition system is available, but it's not often updated because a lot of components need to be adjusted.

Tested with NG+ but playable with New Game.

Recommend Hard mode for a fair challenge (Enemies +50% stats). If the game is too easy, remove gears and spines. In Boss Challenge, play to remove all weapon/tumbler upgrades and healing items.

Use the tumbler or heal grenade to recharge Burst Gauge.

1. Stamina system

- Reimplemented Beta Gauge into stamina. Used in attacks and movement.

- Stamina affects movement speed in 3 stages; normal, low, and depleted stamina.

- Attacks by stronger enemies like bosses cause accumulative stun damage that is reflected in the stamina bar. Recovers over ~10 seconds.

2. Semi-dynamic stat effects based on damage and stamina

- Health and stamina condition affect total Beta Gauge, movement speed, sprinting ability, vision, and knockdown resistance.

- Eve resists most knockdowns when HP is above 50%

There are still some bugs but they happen so rarely that it's difficult to replicate and debug.

3. Removed instant death/instant kill traps.

- Most instant kill traps removed and do damage instead (e.g. grinder, laser, long range cannon).

- Instant death from higher falls removed and does damage instead.

- Fire damage significantly reduced.

- Enemy instant kill moves/skills removed.

4. Reworked range weapons

- Energy weapons use Burst gauge and recharging ammo, projectile weapons use ammunition.

- Shotgun changed to fire a long range energy bolt.

- Blaster fires shorter pulses. Stage 2 and 3 overcharge damages Eve slightly for more damage. Stage 3 knocks down many enemies and pierces (physical) shields.

- Slug cannon projectile range increased, decreased shield damage.

- Stinger ammo significantly decreased and damage greatly increased, knock down/back ability on weaker enemies.

- Explosive ammo is 2 with very high damage. Can knock down or stun bosses.
