No Plague Heart Territory

Plague hearts stop claiming the ground around them.

The buildings near a heart are no longer Claimed by Plague Heart, so you can take them as outposts or move your base in without clearing the heart first. Heartland worked like this, and it changes how you read the map: you pick a spot because you want it, not because a heart let you have it.

What it does

• []Sites next to a plague heart can be claimed as outposts again[/]

  []You can move your base into what used to be plague land[/]

  []Hearts themselves are untouched. They still wake up, fight back, keep plague zombies around them and pay out the same when you kill them[/]

  What it doesn't do

  A site with the heart sitting inside it still can't be claimed. Destroy that heart first, same as always.

  Install

  • []Vortex: Install From File, pick the zip, Enable, Deploy.[/]

    []Manual: drop the .pak into a subfolder of %LOCALAPPDATA%\StateOfDecay2\Saved\Paks\[/]

  Works on a community you already have, no new game needed. Delete the .pak and hearts claim territory again next time you load. Your save is fine either way.

  Compatibility

  It changes one file, the plague heart itself (Characters/BloodPlagueNode), so it only clashes with other mods that edit plague hearts. It doesn't touch the player, camera, HUD or game mode, so it sits happily next to First Person Mode, Photo Mode, Freak Spawner and the menu mods. Built against the current U38 game files.

  Tested on an existing Trumbull Valley community.
