Outpost Ship Signs

WHAT IT DOES

This mods adds professional and consistent looking ship signs to the outpost builder menu under Decorations.  It's primarily intended for interior decorated ships, but some of the signs would work in an outpost as well.  The signs are distributed into three Decorations groups:

• []Number signs: 0-9

  []Symbols: up, down, left, right arrows and a dash symbol

  []Room names: 57 room names such as BRIDGE, OPERATIONS CENTER, MEDICAL BAY, BRIG, and many more.

  KNOWN ISSUES:

  Two of the room name signs, HYDROPONICS and STORAGE, are "floor flat".  It's not clear if those two are floor signs somewhere in the game.  The mod uses copies of the statics, so a future version of this mod may have these two corrected to a wall sign like the others.

  In the mean time, if you place these two wayward signs, you can re-orient them in the console as follows:

  1. SAVE YOUR GAME!

  2. Open the console and select the sign, make sure it is the thing selected!  It will be a STAT object.

  3. Enter the appropriate setangle command to rotate it:

  • []setangle x 90; if YOU are facing rear of ship looking at the sign

    []setangle x 270; if YOU are facing front of ship looking at the sign

    []setangle y 270; if YOU are facing port side looking at the sign

    []setangle y 90; if YOU are facing starboard looking at the sign

    Another minor issue is the GRAVITY GENERATOR sign is not consistent with the others.  It has almost no white space around the letters and is thin top to bottom.  I don't plan on learning to edit nifs at this point so it is what it is.

    FUTURE VERSIONS:

    As mentioned, a future version may correct the two signs that are not oriented correctly.

    I'm not sure if it is possible, I may check into how a sign like this can be placed on floors in addition to walls, and get it to automatically rotate.  Floors are nice because you can put a sign at a ladder hole.  This can be done now by moving and rotating them with console commands after you place them but would be a nice to have in the outpost builder.

    INSTALLATION:

    include Outpost Ship Signs.esm in your plugins.txt and install with your mod manager (I use Vortex).
