Marika The Deputy - A Visual Replacer

Description

Marika has a youthful voice, but her original appearance does not always give the same impression. This replacer gives her a younger and more energetic look that better matches the character.

Her background portrays her as an honest and principled person with a strong sense of justice. Although her experiences with HopeTech, the Freestar Collective, and the UC left her disappointed, she has not completely given up on the idea that people can build something better. Her new appearance gives her a firmer gaze to reflect that determination.

Her hairstyle has also been replaced. Marika, why did you get the same haircut as Sam Coe? Is that the official hairstyle for retired Freestar Rangers? The new design instead gives her a slightly tomboyish character, something I feel is still uncommon among Starfield’s female companions. This is not a style I am especially experienced with, but I did my best to make her feel youthful, practical, and distinctive.

Her skills have also been adjusted to better reflect both her history and her ambitions. Her shotgun and general combat abilities have been strengthened, allowing her former Ranger experience to matter more in battle. She can now provide greater assistance to ship weapon systems, while her new outpost-related skill supports her long-term dream of travelling the Settled Systems and eventually founding a community of her own.

Marika is young, principled, unaffiliated, and available near the beginning of the game. Rather than remaining another easily forgotten hired crew member, she can now fill the role of a loyal and dependable deputy — a Starfield companion closer in spirit to Lydia.

She can watch your back in a firefight, assist your ship in space, and contribute when assigned to an outpost. She may not be a legendary hero or an experienced commander, but she is a reliable partner ready to grow alongside the player.

Come on, Captain. Take your deputy on an adventure.
