Harbor - Streamlined Dues

Design Concept

Harbor is a Port Dues system with a focus on clear feedback and player interaction.

Port Dues

All spaceports charge an Administrative Fee for use of their services.

Most major spaceports charge a unique Visitor's Levy on top of this fee.

All costs are automatically withdrawn when landing or exiting your ship in a valid spaceport.

Faction Credentials

Faction members carrying their credentials have Levies reduced by a set amount.

• UC Citizens have Levies offset by 600 credits in UC settlements.

• Freestar Rangers get a 240 credit discount in their jurisdiction.

The Neon Voucher grants a discount of 1800 Credits in Neon only.

A Neon Voucher can be acquired two ways:

• Completing Back to the Grind grants one as a quest item which cannot be lost or sold.

• Kolman Lang at the Neon Trade Authority has one for sale - with no special protections.

Mooring Fees

Once each local day after making port, 50% of Port Dues must be paid as a Mooring fee.

Ship Upkeep

Note: Some locations do not perform Upkeep.

Upkeep represents the ongoing costs of operating your vessel.

It scales smoothly on your ship's Total Mass, Drive Thrust, and Reactor Power.

Vessel Condition

Your ship's Vessel Condition is reduced slowly by traversal and combat actions.

As Condition decreases, the cost of Upkeep reaches its maximum.

Paying for Upkeep restores Condition to full.

Constellation Coverage

All Harbor costs are halved when piloting the Frontier.

Missed Payments

Unpaid Port Dues or Mooring Fees are immediately converted into a bounty.

Failure to pay Upkeep does not incur a bounty, but will not restore Condition either.

Configuration

Main: Enable or disable Dues - or enable Spacefarer Mode which doubles costs.

Notification: Choose how notifications display when collecting Dues.

Installation

Harbor will begin running when installed.

Compatibility

Harbor is a gameplay-centric re-imagining of Cost of Spacing.

If you are using The Space Economy, you don't need to use Harbor.

Otherwise, Harbor is compatible with any other mod that does not implement an overlapping port dues system.
