First Person Messages

2024 January 28 - I may still update occasionally, but have no further plans with any of my mods except Books Revamped, Better NPCs, Starlit - A Starfield Mod List, and a fourth unnamed project, so you have my explicit permission to do what you want with this one.

Unhiding by request, but I'd like to point everyone to Conversational First Person Notifications and Messages. While my mod is closer to vanilla, just in first person, TheTritch has put a lot more effort into how someone might actually think and fixed a few things that aren't present in this mod.

In case "You can not eat quest items." or "You can not sleep in the air." kill your immersion. Changes the notification in the top right corner to first-person POV and uses more natural language.

Update 1. 1 also changes top left and message box notifications to first person.

There was a question on the CCR mod about keeping the messages on screen longer than a second. Unfortunately this is a HUD setting which means it's out of scope here. Go bug your favorite HUD mod author. I'm sure they'll really appreciate it.

First Person Messages is compatible with everything, but if you're running a CCR mod that changes those, it will take priority. Remove it.

If you don't know how to install mods properly, I am begging you, go watch a couple videos before downloading this or any other mods. There are so many resources available to you and smarter people than me have already explained it.

Install as normal with MO2 or Vortex

Manual Installation Instructions

1. Download the mod.

2. Unzip the contents into %userprofile%\Documents\My Games\Starfield\Data.

3. Download and install Plugins.txt Enabler.

4. Create a Plugins.txt file in %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Starfield and add *FirstPersonMessages.esm to it.
