Backgrounds no longer have predefined starting skills. Instead you will get 3 skill points you can spent on any skill you want.
You can choose as many traits as you want, as long as they do not exclude each other (e. g. Religions). The game will only show the details of the first 3 traits in character creation.
Skills no longer have tiers. No more need to spend skill points on skill you do not want.
And with Character Creation Unchained Plus you can even forget about skill challenges
Installation
Add the following line(s) to your plugins.txt:

If you are using the Starfield Community Patch and Character Creation Unchained Plus make sure to add following lines after the SCP
CharacterCreationUnchainedPlus.esm
