📋 About This Mod
Turn Stardew Valley into a deeper survival and life-simulation experience.
Survival Valley expands Stardew Valley with a collection of interconnected survival, health, progression, equipment, and immersion systems.
Instead of simply watching your Energy bar, your farmer now has to think about food, water, body temperature, hygiene, bathroom needs, carried weight, equipment condition, food freshness, physical fitness, and more.
The goal is not to turn Stardew Valley into an impossibly punishing survival game. Most major systems can be adjusted or disabled individually through Generic Mod Config Menu, allowing you to use only the features you enjoy.
Survival Valley also includes several systems that originally existed as separate mods, bringing them together into one larger survival overhaul.

Survival Valley replaces simple hunger with a calorie-based metabolism system.
Food adds calories to your body while walking, running, fighting, using tools, swimming, pulling heavy loads, and simply existing throughout the day gradually burns them.
Being underfed can eventually cause survival penalties, while overeating can also have consequences. Calories continue to matter while you sleep, so going to bed does not completely freeze your metabolism.
The system is designed around long-term energy management rather than forcing the player to constantly eat every few minutes.
Your farmer now has a Water meter which gradually drains throughout the day.
Walking, physical activity, weather, heat, caffeine, and other survival systems can increase how quickly you become dehydrated.
Drinks restore Water, with Survival Valley recognizing both vanilla drinks and many modded drinks automatically.
Hydration can be absorbed gradually or restored immediately depending on your GMCM settings.
You can even drink from your Watering Can, although untreated water may come with risks.
Eating and drinking now creates bathroom needs.
Pee can build up to 100, while Poo can build much higher depending on what your farmer eats. Ignoring these meters for too long can result in discomfort, accidents, stink, and other consequences.
Bathrooms, toilets, public facilities, and emergency relief items give you ways to deal with these needs.
Different foods also affect digestion differently, meaning nutrition and bathroom needs are connected rather than being completely separate systems.
PEEP & PEWP
When a toilet is nowhere nearby, you can craft emergency outdoor relief items.
Peep is used to relieve the Pee meter.

Survival Valley adds lighthearted survival mechanics to Stardew Valley, including hunger, thirst, digestion, bathroom needs, sickness, hygiene, nutrition, and stamina consequences. Food calories process gradually over time, tool use burns calories, and you can drink from your watering can. With 4 endorsements and 215 downloads, it's a niche mod for players wanting metabolic depth.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Adds real depth to eating: calories process over time, so you can't just spam food for instant energy.
- Tool and weapon use actually burns calories, making farm work feel more physical.
- Fresh update (August 2026) — good sign for compatibility with current game version.
⚠️ Cons
- Only 4 endorsements and 215 downloads — a very small user base, so expect limited community support.
- Survival mechanics add constant management that might frustrate players looking for a chill farming experience.
- No install instructions or dependency list provided, so setup may require extra research.
For Stardew Valley players who want deeper survival gameplay without leaving the cozy aesthetic. If you enjoy managing hunger, thirst, and bathroom needs alongside farming, this adds that layer. Skip if you prefer the base game's relaxed pace or dislike micromanagement.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Check if SMAPI (Stardew Modding API) is required — most Stardew Valley mods need it to run.
- Start a new save or test on a separate farm to see how the new meters affect your daily routine before committing.
- Keep your watering can filled — you can drink from it in emergencies, but the water source might have consequences.
