Alpha Ship

💭 The ship is the home of space explorers, the safe place where any traveler knows they can always return. But knowing that there are so many styles and ways to be an explorer in this wonderful universe, it is strange that the ship is often so generic, or limited. The standard ship model is basic, and it certainly does the job, but it is common to look out the window of our generic ship and think... Could it be better?

I have always wanted to answer this question, even though many other creators over the years have answered it in their own ways. With this in mind, I sought to develop a simple yet interesting and immersive system, which is modular enough to have few compatibility issues, but at the same time is cozy and interesting for new players who just want to explore the stars in Starbound! 💭

⚙️ Possibility to permanently convert the default ship into a ship that can be modified block by block.

🛒 The BYOS Module (Build Your Own Ship, a popular term in the community) can be purchased from Infinity Express, located in the Outpost.

🛰️ Zero-G effect outside the ship, requiring caution when exiting through the external hatch.

🌌 The space outside the ship is also non-breathable, ensuring a sad way to return to the ship if the player gets lost floating.

❌ If you don't like the gravity and vacuum system, you can exit the ship and remove the mod, keeping the customizable structure.

🧩 The mod will not make any significant changes to your default ship if you do not use the BYOS Module.

📦 The Ship Locker that came with the default ship has been removed, and the starting items have been slightly modified, being received when turning on the ship.

🐧 Penguin Pete will now sell important ship objects, such as S. A. I. L. modules, pilot chairs, and fuel hatches.

🏷️ The names of some ship objects have been changed to include a species-themed identification prefix.

🔥 Thrusters are also sold by Penguin Pete, and are merely decorative, but very nice.

📡 Some new messages will be played by S. A. I. L. only once, giving the player useful information about the mod.

(Existing Ship Light Bulbs on the ship without the BYOS Module are lost whenever the player performs traditional upgrades.)
