💭 When we first played Starbound, we noticed a great diversity of playable species, each with unique stories and structures that we experienced during our adventures. However, after some time, it becomes clear that the only difference between these various species is their appearance, something that breaks the immersion in the game's universe.

Thinking about it, I saw a need to look for characteristics that make the choice of species a rewarding and unique moment for the player, so that he is punished and also rewarded for the choice made. Other than that, the diet was also modified, with options that make sense for each species. In short, my goal with this mod is to ensure that biological diversity is as interesting and satisfying as aesthetic diversity in Starbound! 💭

🍽️ Ingredients and foods can only be consumed if they are in the specific diet standard of each race.

😋 Modified Wellfed effect, temporarily preventing food consumption, but keeping decay on the nutrition bar.

🤢 Modified the effect of Food Poisoning to be a little more meaningful to the player.

💀 Due to the various mechanics involving food, the effect of Starving has been modified, making it a lot less deadly.
