Slipstream: DAYTONA USA (READ INSTALLATION GUIDE)

A mod to turn Slipstream into a more Daytona-USA-esque experience. Replaces most of the menu music, menu sound effects, some backgrounds, and traffic cars. Pairs well with the Daytona Hornet mod available here. INSTALLATION GUIDE: The first thing you should be aware of: DO NOT INSTALL THIS MOD THROUGH THE STEAM WORKSHOP AND EXPECT IT TO AUTOMATICALLY WORK. Slipstream workshop mods install into the Slipstream\assets\content directory, while this mod needs access to Slipstream\assets\audio and Slipstream\assets\graphics. FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW. Install the mod through the steam workshop. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\732810\3649538699 in a file explorer Copy both subfolders within the folder. Under the Slipstream page in your library, click on "Browse local files;" or travel to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Slipstream\assets. Paste the two downloaded folders into the Slipstream assets folder. When asked if you want to overwrite all of the pre-existing files, select yes for all. Congrats! Everything should now be working. While a majority of the overwritten files have their original versions available in the mod download file, it is still recommended to back up the "audio" and "graphics" folders from the base game. Dev Notes: When I said I wanted to do more with this Daytona USA mod idea, this is not at all what I initially envisioned, but I'm super happy with how all of this turned out. Of course, I'm still not finished; maybe I'll do some Ridge Racer stuff next time (probably not), maybe I'll import some tracks (if I can figure that whole system out). For now though, enjoy Slipstream: DAYTONA USA!
