  []Slimeology: A slime with its head in the clouds, the Stratus Slime feels most at home in the Moss Blanket, where the tree canopy allows it room to drift without the danger of going too high. Its behaviour is thought to be caused by the liquid of its body having a volatile boiling point. Chemical processes within the slime cause it to periodically transform from a liquid into a gas, only to return to liquid again shortly after. Fortunately, this process appears to be totally natural for the slime, as it is unbothered by the frequent matter state changes constantly taking place within its body.

  []Risks: Stratus Slimes are prone to floating off. A rancher who doesn't keep them under an Air Net will quickly find that they have escaped, vanished, or landed in another corral!

  []Plortonomics: Stratus Plorts are amazingly light as well as surprisingly durable. This combination has made them an ideal building material in situations where minimising weight is a concern. Most notably, they are frequently used to build vehicles designed for air travel back on Earth, and their properties have allowed the average size of planes to double in size while also requiring less fuel to keep them airborne.

    Known Issues

    • []Stratus Slime behaviour may cause them to escape through the Air Net. Issue is inconsistent and only some people experience it, not sure why.
