📋 About This Mod

TRANSLATIONS AND MODS BUILDING OFF THIS MOD (aka USING THIS MOD AS A DEPENDANCY AND/OR REGIONALLY TRANSLATING) IS ALLOWED AND, FRANKLY, ENCOURAGED

YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM, TO REDISTRIBUTE THIS MOD AS YOUR OWN.

NOTE FROM THE MOD AUTHOR: I HAVE BEEN AWAY FROM MODDING FOR A WHILE AND HAVE A FEW PROJECTS IN PRODUCTION, SO MY ABILITY TO FIX OR OTHERWISE ADJUST THIS MOD IS NON-EXISTANT. ALL I ASK IS THAT YOU CREDIT ME AND POINT TOWARDS THIS MOD IF YOU ARE USING IT AS A BASIS FOR YOUR MOD. I RARELY CHECK THIS PAGE ANYMORE, SO YOUR BEST BET IS TO CONTACT ME VIA TWITTER.

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE DOWNLOADING

  • []This is my FIRST ATTEMPT at a player home. Things can and will be a little on the buggy side. Considering i had to piece a lot of this code together from old tutorials and trial and error, mistakes are bound to happen.

[]If you submit a bug report, please try to be specific on the issues. I've tested things multiple times on my end and they seem to work fine. If you are having an issue, try reloading a previous save. If it doesn't work, let me know and please explain it in as much detail as you can so I can try to replicate the problem and find the fix

[]Several parts of the home are CONDITIONAL. This means: If you don't have a specific item in your inventory, or you haven't completed a specific quest, it won't display or work properly until then. Ensure you have completed ANY AND ALL ASSOCIATED QUESTS before placing the item.

[]I know what you are thinking: "But wait, the new download is SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than the older download? Are you sure everything is there?" Yes, I am. And yes, I lost a decent amount of sleep over this. I tested the files myself on a laptop with a fresh install and only this mod alongside a vanilla version of the game and everything works perfectly. I don't know exactly WHY the original file size was so massive, I wish i really knew. Maybe it's how I compressed things the second time around, maybe it's how Nexus Mods handled something. Everything still checks out, so no need to worry. I worried enough for the two of us.

That being said, I hope you enjoy the mod more than I did MAKING the thing.

    ========================================== ? ABOUT THE MOD ? ==========================================

Several years in the making, finally released for the public

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

WolfSkull Manor is a Riften thief player home mod by Caffeinated NPC, with 244 endorsements and over 11k downloads. It's the author's first player home, featuring conditional displays tied to quests and items. The mod is stable but the author has stepped away from modding, so no updates or fixes are expected.

✨ Key Features

Adds a thief-themed player home in Riften.
Features conditional displays that require specific items or quest completion to activate.
Author encourages translations and derivative mods with credit.
Tested by the author on a fresh install with only this mod and vanilla Skyrim.
File size was significantly reduced in the latest download, verified to work.
Author is no longer actively modding, so support is limited.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Solid community backing with 244 endorsements and over 11k downloads.
  • Author explicitly tested the smaller file on a fresh install, so it's not a broken upload.
  • Open permission for translations and mods building off it, which is rare and cool.

⚠️ Cons

  • Author is done modding, so bugs won't get fixed—you're on your own if something breaks.
  • First player home attempt, so expect janky navmesh or scripting quirks.
  • Conditional displays can be confusing if you haven't done the right quests—might look empty at first.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Skyrim players who want a thief-themed hideout in Riften with some interactive displays. If you're a completionist who likes unlocking stuff through quests, this is your jam. Skip if you need a fully polished, bug-free home—this one's a labor of love with rough edges.
📦 Install:Easy· Under 1 minute

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Make sure you've completed the Thieves Guild questline before placing items, or the conditional displays won't activate.
  • If something looks broken, try reloading a previous save—the author says that fixes most issues.
  • Since the mod is unmaintained, avoid using it alongside other Riften overhaul mods that might conflict.
