📋 About This Mod
— Description —
This mod aims to bring a fresh feeling of immersion and atmosphere to your wonderful world of Skyrim by replacing the common fences we see everywhere with gritty and lived-in practical fences. I believe these fit the style and design of Skyrim.
I have always been inspired by the art design and atmosphere that the Witcher games bring, which inspired me to create similar looking fence models to the ones seen in the farming village regions of Velen.
— Where you’ll see this change —
You'll see these new fence models in nearly all villages and anywhere else where the normal farm fence is typically seen.
— What textures does this use? —
The wood texture on the fences use your farmhouse texture “woodpost02”, so you’ll get a nice blend with your villages. The ropes use Rally’s custom rope texture, courtesy of Rallyeater.
— Two Versions Available —

[]Option 1 - Witcher Style Fences: This version is as I intended, these models include the higher quality/poly ropes. The meshes have been carefully created and optimized. All feedback I've received says this did not cause any performance issues. I recommend this version.

]Option 2 - Witcher Style Fences - Lite: This version is a "lite" version, where I decimated the ropes to cut the triangle count by half, just in case you have a potato PC.[]This is purely informational only; for comparison to other popular fence mods: SMIM = 2,520 triangles each, SD Lutz = 9,866 triangles each, my fence mod = 5,235 triangles each. my "lite" version = 2,927 triangles each.
— Compatibility —
This mod should be compatible with nearly everything. This is simply a mesh replacer and follows the vanilla footprint as closely as possible. You might see some visual oddities depending on how Bethesda and modders may have placed/utilized fence meshes in their mods.
— Attention to the Small Details —
The new fence models come with their own new collision, which allows you to shoot arrows at your enemies through the spots in between! :)
The new fence models top wood railing is at the same height as vanilla, so NPC idle animations that lean on the fences will look nicely like you’d expect :)
