📋 About This Mod

Description

There are hundreds of books on the shelves in the Temple of Stendarr's library. Why search for books anywhere in the world since most of them are here and you can just walk off with them? This mod marks them all as owned by the Stendarr Library Faction. You can still read them (and skill up from the skill books) but you can no longer simply take them. That is stealing. (Bad patron! Bad!) I've also marked the individual books lying around the library and upstairs. Those are the ones currently being read by other patrons. I'm sure they won't mind if you read over their shoulder.

Compatibility

  • []Compatible with the English and Japanese versions of the plugin from Vigilant SE (choose the appropriate download).

[]Compatible with the English plugin from VIGILANT Voiced - English Addon.

  • Probably compatible with other translations. The only concern is the location "Temple of Stendarr" will appear in English instead of the localized language.

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

Vigilant - No Free Library Books is a small patch for the Vigilant quest mod that marks all books in the Temple of Stendarr's library as owned, preventing players from taking them without consequences. It's for players who want a more immersive, law-abiding experience in Skyrim.

✨ Key Features

Marks all books in the Temple of Stendarr's library as owned.
Allows reading but prevents taking books without stealing.
Compatible with the Vigilant mod.
Available in English and another language (likely German).

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Tiny patch that does exactly what it says—no more free book grabs.
  • Adds a layer of immersion for roleplayers who want to respect the Vigilants' property.
  • Simple and lightweight, won't bloat your load order.

⚠️ Cons

  • Only affects the Temple of Stendarr library—if you wanted broader ownership changes, this won't help.
  • Requires the Vigilant mod, so it's useless if you don't have that installed.
  • Potential conflicts with other mods that alter the same library cells or book ownership.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Skyrim players who use the Vigilant mod and want a more realistic library experience—where you can read but not steal. Skip if you don't care about book ownership or if you're not using Vigilant.
📦 Install:Easy· Under 1 minute
