📋 About This Mod
Treasure Maps Randomized
Mod Description
Treasure maps 1 to 10 are scattered randomly across bandit camps.
Features
Treasure maps ranging from 1 to 10 can no longer be found on their default locations. They will now be distributed randomly to bandit
boss chests across Skyrim (Specifically, in any of the nine Holds). Their related treasure chests were not touched!
Due to the nature of this plugin, finding one or even more treasure maps on a single boss chest is possible, but also very unlikely. The more modded bandit camps you have on your load order, the harder it will be to find every treasure map.
Example roll:
Trace: Treasure Map I Location: Cracked Tusk Keep
Trace: Treasure Map II Location: Bilegulch Mine
Trace: Treasure Map III Location: Halted Stream Camp
Trace: Treasure Map IV Location: Gallows Rock
Trace: Treasure Map V Location: Redoran's Retreat
Trace: Treasure Map VI Location: Treva's Watch
Trace: Treasure Map VII Location: Bilegulch Mine
Trace: Treasure Map VIII Location: Broken Helm Hollow
Trace: Treasure Map IX Location: Robber's Gorge
Trace: Treasure Map X Location: Cragslane Cavern
PS: The maps are distributed once as you are done creating a new character. Using stock save files means that the maps are always going to be assigned to the same locations.
Compatibility
This plugin should be compatible with everything, but I recommend loading it as lower as possible.
Should be loaded after (below) the following mods:
Suinier's Evolving Locations
Patches available for:
Book Covers Skyrim (Thanks to GhoulSmasher)
Legacy of The Dragonborn (Thanks to zinghunt)

Treasure Maps Randomized scatters Skyrim's ten treasure maps across bandit boss chests in all nine Holds, removing them from their default locations. It's a lightweight compatibility-friendly tweak for players who want a fresh hunt, with patches for Book Covers Skyrim and Legacy of The Dragonborn.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Fresh take on treasure hunting—no more knowing exactly where to go every playthrough.
- Lightweight and compatible with most setups, plus patches for two popular mods.
- Adds replay value without changing gameplay mechanics, perfect for veteran players.
⚠️ Cons
- Small mod with 55 endorsements, so it's not widely tested—expect potential bugs.
- Random distribution can be frustrating if you're hunting a specific map; you might clear many camps.
- More bandit camp mods in your load order make finding all maps harder, which could be a con for completionists.
For Skyrim players who want to rediscover the thrill of treasure hunting without knowing the map locations by heart. It's also great for modded playthroughs with extra bandit camps, adding a layer of unpredictability. Skip if you prefer guaranteed rewards or don't like randomized content.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Load this mod as low as possible in your load order, especially if you use Suinier's Evolving Locations.
- If you use Book Covers Skyrim or Legacy of The Dragonborn, grab the respective patches to avoid conflicts.
- Start a new character to get a fresh random distribution; using an existing save will lock the locations.
