📋 About This Mod
Description:
Something I did for personal use and thought others might find it useful if they want to make similar edits to their skeleton.nif file. Changes bow position to have the string go over the shoulder (a la Tomb Raider). It's far from perfect but it's mostly meant for someone who can fix it up to fit their in-game character and also to maybe get some interesting discussion going on cool skeleton edits. Is completely safe to (un)install as many times as you like. Careful you don't overwrite another mod that you like that modifies the same file. If it does work for others (only tested it myself) and you want to use this in your own mod then feel free. This is just about learning to mod for me.
Installation: Install using NMM or just manually place files in the correct place.
Uninstallation: Reverse the above.
Change Log: Added both a regular and Belt-Fastened Quivers version that covers all races and genders now. Again, might clip in certain situations but without a bit of editing to suit your character there's not much I can do about it.
Known Issues: Will most likely clip at least a bit depending on how your character is set up.

This small immersion mod for Skyrim moves the bow's string over the shoulder, Tomb Raider style. It's a rough proof-of-concept meant for modders to refine, not a polished release. With 463 endorsements and 19,211 downloads, it has a niche following, though it hasn't been updated since 2016.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Niche but proven concept with 463 endorsements and 19k downloads.
- Lightweight immersion tweak that changes how bows look on your back.
- Open-ended design invites community tweaks and improvements.
⚠️ Cons
- Author admits it's 'far from perfect' and may clip with your character.
- No updates since 2016, so it's likely abandoned.
- May conflict with other mods that alter bow meshes or animations.
For Skyrim players who want a subtle visual change to bow positioning and don't mind a rough edge. Also for modders looking for a base to tweak. Skip if you want a polished, bug-free mod or if you're not into cosmetic immersion tweaks.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's a mesh replacer, install with a mod manager to easily uninstall if it clips.
- Check your character's body type—this mod may need tweaking for non-standard bodies.
- If you use other bow mods, test load order to see which takes priority.
