📋 About This Mod
The Great City of Winterhold
Small mod that adds a new blacksmith at the Winterhold Docks once you have completed the quest to get the Helmet of Winterhold. After a couple of days, the blacksmith and his wife will move into one of the abandoned houses. The smith will also open up his shop and send you a letter. Rumor has it is that he makes his own custom mead. They both have custom AI packages and do different things throughout the day. Also adds a small delivery quest and a bit of dialogue to the smith.
Before and After of the abandoned house:
Why is he there after getting the helmet?
Mainly cuz it was the easiest quest (that is tied to the actual city) to track that most people would do when going to Winterhold.
Tried to make as minimal conflicts as possible (mainly navmesh) to be compatible with most mods
Should work on new saves, tho I have not tested extensively
Requires The Great City of Winterhold v4. 1+
(WILL NOT WORK WITH MINOR TOWNS AND CITIES UNLESS YOU HAVE THE PATCH FROM THE PATCH COLLECTION) and USSEPAll files are esl flagged
Some voice files were generated using ElevenLabs.io beta
Thanks ChickenMike for helping test v2!
Adds a blacksmith to TGC Winterhold that appears a couple days after completing the quest to get the Helm of Winterhold. A small, focused addition for players using TGC Winterhold who want a convenient vendor. With 253 endorsements and 113,980 downloads, it's a modest but popular utility mod.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid endorsement-to-download ratio (253 endorsements, 113k downloads) shows it's well-received
- Fills a practical gap by giving TGC Winterhold a blacksmith for post-quest convenience
- Ties into existing quest progression, so it feels natural rather than just plopping a vendor in
⚠️ Cons
- Requires TGC Winterhold as a base, so it's useless if you don't use that overhaul
- Only adds one blacksmith—no other features or enhancements
- Potential compatibility issues with other mods that alter Winterhold or its NPCs
For Skyrim players who use TGC Winterhold and want a blacksmith after finishing the Helm of Winterhold quest. It's a niche convenience mod, not a major overhaul. Skip if you don't use TGC Winterhold or want more substantial city changes.
💡 Beginner Tips

- Complete the 'Helm of Winterhold' quest first—the blacksmith won't appear until a couple days after.
- If you're using a mod manager, let it handle the file placement to avoid overwriting issues.
