📋 About This Mod

Temper Services

You can go to blacksmiths and ask them to "repair my gear", this will show a menu and you can select what items you want to enhance. The maximum level that they can upgrade your equipment (Superior, Flawless, Epic, ...) is directly tied to the smith's Smithing skill.

By default the cost of this service is the 200 gold per item plus the item's base price plus an extra fee based on the upgrade level, so tempering to higher levels cost more. In MCM you have options to set a base price for tempering, and a price multiplier to adjust the pricing up or down as you see fit.

This properly handles the "stolen" flag, so your stolen gear will remain stolen even if you ask someone else to temper it for you.

Recharging Services

To recharge your enchanted weapons. This service is available by the court wizards, or trainers in Enchanting. The cost of this service is 1 gold per charge (similar to Oblivion), though the existing charges inside the item doesn't cost anything. This pricing too can be customized in MCM.

Compatiblity

This mod does not touch any vanilla records and should be compatible with every other mod, including mods that add new weapon/armor, or mods that add new NPCs that smith and enchant, provided they have the proper keywords.

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Huge community adoption — 469k downloads and 439 endorsements show it's a trusted mod.
  • Solves a real annoyance: no more grinding smithing or carrying soul gems for recharges.
  • Simple, immersive concept that works with the game's existing NPCs.

⚠️ Cons

  • Last updated June 2026, but no compatibility notes for other mods that alter smiths or wizards.
  • May feel too easy for purists who prefer to earn tempering and recharging through skills.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Skyrim players who want to skip the grind and pay for convenience, especially those who don't invest in smithing or enchanting. Also great for role-players who want a more realistic economy. Skip if you're a purist who wants to rely only on your own skills.
