REQUIREMENTS
- Immersive Equipment Displays
- Open Animation Replacer
- Open Animation Replacer - IED Conditions
One-handed:
Two-handed:
If you're using the Two-Handed preset and the weapon has a scabbard, choose the remove scabbard preset and also apply the other preset in "View>Display manager>View>Custom items. This is necessary to remove the scabbard from the weapon since you need both hands to use it:
Basic rules:
- The weapon will only be displayed on the left hand when/if:
-- The weapon is actually equipped.
-- The left hand is empty (no other weapon/shield/torch/spell equipped)
-- Your character is not swimming, sitting, riding or using a furniture.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 300 endorsements and over 34k downloads, so it's got a solid user base.
- Gives your character a unique, left-handed sword carry that stands out from the default.
- Recent update (June 2024) means it's likely still compatible with current mod setups.
⚠️ Cons
- Requires both Immersive Equipment Displays and Open Animation Replacer, so it's not a standalone drop-in mod.
- Only affects sheathed sword positioning—no combat animation changes, so it's purely cosmetic.
- Potential compatibility issues with other mods that alter IED presets or sword animations.
For Skyrim players who use Immersive Equipment Displays and want a more natural left-hand sword carry for screenshots or roleplay. If you're not into cosmetic animation tweaks or don't use IED/OAR, this isn't for you.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have both IED and OAR installed and up to date before adding this mod.
- Use a mod manager like MO2 to install and manage the files to avoid overwriting conflicts.
- Check your IED preset in-game to ensure the sword appears on the left hand; you may need to adjust the preset if other mods override it.
