📋 About This Mod

IntroDo you obsessively change your follower's looks?  Do you like other follower mods but need Extensible Follower Framework for the tattoo menu?  Do you hate waiting for showracemenu to load?  Do you want to sculpt Galathil's face instead of her sculpting yours?  Do you hate endless questions?  Same.

DescriptionThis mod takes the tattoo menu from Extensible Follower Framework and lets you instantly cast it on any npc or yourself. This includes the Body Morphs, Camera, Beast, Body Scales, Magic, Genitals, Weapons, Body Paint, Hand Paint, Foot Paint, and Face Paint categories from Racemenu. Because it doesn't load most of the normal Racemenu options it is significantly faster.

THIS MOD IS NOT SHOWRACEMENU FOR NPCS. YOU CAN'T EDIT FACES OR HEADS. Sorry, it's probably impossible or Expired would have done it already.

LocationThe spell tomes are located under the Face Sculpter's bench in the Ragged Flagon.

InfoI can't promise any or all of these will work for you as that depends on your mod setups. I'm not sure what functions Racemenu SE supports so some of these might not work at all.  If you have problems please go look at Racemenu or UIE stuff, this is really just an extension of that.

This should be compatible with every mod ever (that is also compatible with Racemenu and UIE).

I made a Classic version too.

BugsThere's three known bugs that I probably definitely can't fix. First, if you use the search bar and press 'R' you will exit the menu and your controls will be locked out.

Second, if you press space for the search bar then exit the menu it might freeze your character in place. This is probably related to the first one. So basically never use the search bar.

Third affects SSE, the mouse doesn't work in the menu (at least for me) but the keys work fine. This is a bug with UIE. This is fixed by SSE Engine Fixes. I think it introduced another bug where height/spine length isn't updated until exiting the menu, but that's a small price to pay.

Not a bug but a disabled feature by Expired - NPC overlays are disabled by default with a warning that you probably shouldn't change it. If you want to change it for some reason you can find it under bPlayerOnly=1 in nioverride.ini in your RaceMenu/SKSE/Plugins folder. The only alternative I know of is Slavetats.

FAQCan I use your mod for x?

Go for it, I don't even own the source code. Expired did all of the work.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Community favorite with 2,239 endorsements and 155k downloads—clearly fills a need.
  • No need to install the full Extensible Follower Framework just for the cosmetic menu.
  • Works on any NPC, not just followers, giving you total control over character appearance.

⚠️ Cons

  • Last updated in August 2023—might be outdated for the latest Skyrim versions or mod setups.
  • Potential conflicts with other UI or menu mods that alter the same interface.
  • The description is vague on exact installation steps and compatibility, so you might need to experiment.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Skyrim players who love tweaking NPC appearances and want a quick way to apply cosmetic changes without the bloat of a full framework. Also great for mod authors who want a standalone menu to build upon. Skip if you're not into cosmetic customization or prefer all-in-one mods.

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Since this is a standalone mod, you don't need Extensible Follower Framework, but check if it requires SKSE or SkyUI—if so, install those first.
  • Use a mod manager like Vortex or MO2 to avoid overwriting other UI mods, and place it early in your load order.
  • Test the menu on a random NPC first to see if it works with your current setup before applying to important characters.
