📋 About This Mod
Skyrim is dying. Perhaps the old Nord tales were true and the return of the dragons really has foretold the end of the world.
Unchecked zombie hordes have invaded every hold, and draugr have become increasingly bold, venturing out from their dank tombs to hunt the flesh of the living. Meanwhile, packs of rabid wolves roam out of control, attacking travelers and driving deer and elk to near extinction. Bears and sabrecats are now a scarcer sight, driven into the hills by invasive plagues of skeevers, and the forests of Skyrim have become infested with frostbite spiders.
What it does
Greatly increases the chances for the undead to spawn from the outdoor predator, prey, and ambient life leveled lists, with an increased chance for skeevers, spiders, and wolves to appear as well. Wolves will sometimes spawn as bonewolves (with the included CC patch). Travel around Skyrim will now be much more unpredictable, treacherous, and terrifying.
Animals aren't completely removed from the game. There's still a chance for the normal wildlife of Skyrim to spawn too, especially in remote mountainous regions.
ESL flagged.
Installation
SE users: Install the main file and enjoy (instead of zombies, druagr will spawn).

Recommendations
All mods below are compatible out of the box.
[](HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!) The Unbidden - Adds a lot more variety to the zombies. In fact I think zombies are pretty boring without this, especially if you see them a lot.[/]
[]The Restless Dead - Same as above but for draugrs and skeletons.[/]
[]1 Day Respawn Timer (or set your own values with Wrye Bash) - If you want to be constantly under attack everywhere you go, which I recommend.[/]
[*]DFB Random encounters - Adds even more spawn points for extra chaos
Spooky Spawns boosts outdoor spawn rates for zombies, draugr, and other undead creatures in Skyrim. It's a simple tweak for players who want more horror-themed encounters while exploring. With 101 endorsements and recent updates, it's a niche but functional mod.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Simple and effective – does exactly what it says, no bloat.
- Recent update (October 2024) means it's still maintained.
- Decent community support with 101 endorsements and 31k downloads.
⚠️ Cons
- Only affects outdoor spawns – dungeons and interiors remain unchanged.
- May conflict with other mods that edit leveled lists or spawn rates.
- Niche appeal – not for players who prefer vanilla encounter balance.
For Skyrim players who want more undead ambushes while traveling the overworld, especially horror fans or those doing necromancer-themed playthroughs. Skip if you're happy with vanilla spawn rates or prefer mods that add new creatures rather than tweaking existing ones.
