📋 About This Mod
No longer supported, I do have ambiguous future plans to make a new version, but that is likely a long time from now.
Simple Night Spawner was a brilliant idea for a mod. The mod even had a good off-shoots into Fear the Night and Vampires Hunt At Night. The only thing about it that I felt needed improved was the actual scariness of the monsters. I wanted the mod to make me scared to go into the world at night.
That's when I had the idea to incorporate the scariest monster mods from the Nexus and compile them into this spawner!

As of version 4. 1, the mod should be very performance friendly compared to past versions. First, it utilizes a hidden ability with conditions to fire the main spawning script (which sets the cooldown as well) and dispels itself after firing. Since ability conditions update every second, it is perfect for determining the time of day, but very resource intensive (the game is checking every second). That's why the mod has location-change events which add or remove the ability based on conditions (so the ability is only active when it needs to be, and is not when it does not need to be). The mod currently spawns:
Zombie Dogs
Skinned Hounds
Rotten Maidens
Undead Werewolves
Mourning Souls
Bone Colossus
Dread Liches
Hemonculous
The main file will only spawn enemies if the following conditions are met: Player is not in a habitation (which includes Orc Strongholds, Settlements, Towns, Cities, etc.), it is after 9:00 PM or before 5:00 AM (can spawn during daytime if eclipse weather is present), and the player is not in an interior (does not spawn indoors). There is a patch available which removes the habitation check, so that spawns may happen in any exterior cell.
Spawns also now happen in random directions from the player (so that it is less predictably spawned right behind or on top of the player). Visual effects have been added to the spawns as well, to make it look more like they are being summoned and less like they are being spawned in by the game.
The spawner utilizes leveled lists and sublists to greatly increase spawn variety while minimizing scripting. Basically, the script spawns a leveled actor, but the leveled actor can be a near limitless random number of different spawn combinations that can be altered based on player level. (Technique adapted from BBC, which uses it for loot whereas this mod uses it for actor spawning, and BBC's methods were originally adapted from DDL).
