📋 About This Mod
Good-bye Skyrim -- it was a good time.
This mod will no longer be maintained, BUT it just changes a few settings in an .ini file. If it ever goes out of date, you should be able to download and duplicate it without too much effort.
You can edit and re-use this mod all you care to.
-----------------------------------------------------
This is an adjustment to the beloved SkyUI VR mod which opens the Value/Weight column sorted ascending, and also exposes the MAT column so armor can be sorted by material, by default.
When playing Skyrim VR in WMR, I couldn't find a way to "click" on the option to open this column, so I modified the settings manually. This isn't actually a "patch," since it isn't fixing a bug. It simply modifies some preferences.
I have not tried it, but there is now a mod that allows you to "click" on things in SkyUI-VR. You might prefer that solution.

COMPATIBILITY
UPDATED FOR COMPATABILITY WITH SKY UI VR v 1. 1. 0
This patch should work in any installation that includes SkyUI VR. The only kind of mod that I can imagine it conflicting with is another mod that changes the settings or fonts in SkyUI VR. It shouldn't hurt anything if you don't have Sky UI installed, but this mod won't do anything without it.
INSTALLATION
Overwrite SkyUI VR, or put this after SkyUI VR in your load order.
UNINSTALLATION
You almost certainly can install/uninstall this mod without issue. If you install/uninstall SkyUI VR, please refer to that mod creator -- I cannot help you there.
I made this for myself. I hope others find it useful.
SkyUI VR - Columns Patch is a small settings tweak for SkyUI VR that opens the Value/Weight column sorted ascending and exposes the MAT column for armor sorting by default. It modifies an .ini file and is no longer maintained, but the author notes it can be easily duplicated. Requires SkyUI VR.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 430 endorsements and over 11k downloads.
- Tiny tweak that fixes a real annoyance for WMR users who can't click UI elements.
- Author explicitly allows editing and reusing the mod, so it's future-proof even if abandoned.
⚠️ Cons
- Abandoned since June 2022, though the .ini tweak is simple enough to replicate.
- Only useful if you play Skyrim VR with Windows Mixed Reality and can't click column headers.
- May conflict with other mods that alter SkyUI VR settings or fonts, though the author says it's unlikely.
For Skyrim VR players using WMR headsets who struggle to click UI elements and want the Value/Weight and MAT columns open by default. Also for tinkerers who appreciate a simple .ini tweak they can modify themselves. Skip if you don't use SkyUI VR or if you prefer a clickable UI solution like VR Menu Mouse Fix.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Install this patch after SkyUI VR in your load order, or overwrite SkyUI VR's files, to ensure the settings take effect.
- If you're using a mod manager, place this mod after SkyUI VR in the left pane to guarantee overwrite priority.
- Since the mod is just an .ini tweak, you can manually edit the settings yourself if you want to customize the columns further.
