📋 About This Mod
Description
I consider this a part of my "diversifying Skyrim" set of mods that I've developed and am currently developing. I was tired of all the NPCs looking the same old boring way. First I made my Unique Bodies by Race to make the races look different by having each race use different meshes and textures. Then, I made my Pregnant NPCs mod to introduce pregnant NPCs into the game and Hefty People to make certain NPCs look heavier. Here is Skinny People!
This mod changes some vanilla NPCs to have a skinnier look in an immersive way. All NPCs used to share the same average-sized looking meshes, no matter what. I wanted there to be certain NPCs that were much thinner than other NPCs. I changed just beggar NPCs and one prisoner NPC. This mod is pretty small and lightweight, changing NPCs not touched by most mods.
I made the meshes in Bodyslide using both CBBE and HIMBO sliders. I built the meshes to include variability between the low and
high weights as well. Since the female meshes were built in Bodyslide with the CBBE body as a base, it requires that mod and any compatible textures with this body. If you do not have it and download this mod, the textures will not matchup right and look off. HIMBO, however, is NOT required, as it is vanilla friendly with its nevernude body option.
I carried over fixes from USSEP and from this process, it is a requirement for this mod.
Skinny People is a lightweight NPC overhaul mod that alters select vanilla NPCs to have a slimmer appearance. With 192 endorsements and over 14,000 downloads, it's a niche cosmetic tweak for players who want more body diversity in the game. Last updated in December 2021.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 192 endorsements and over 14k downloads.
- Simple cosmetic tweak that adds body variety without overhauling the whole game.
- Lightweight and likely easy to install, given its small scope.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in December 2021, so it may not be compatible with the latest game patches.
- Only affects some NPCs, so the visual change is limited.
- Potential conflicts with other NPC overhaul mods that modify the same characters.
For players who want a subtle visual change to make some NPCs look thinner without a full body mod. If you're looking for a comprehensive NPC overhaul or gameplay changes, this isn't for you.
💡 Beginner Tips
- If you're using a mod manager, let it handle the file placement to avoid overwriting other mods.
- Check if the mod is compatible with your game version, as it hasn't been updated since 2021.
- Load order matters if you use other NPC mods; place this one after to ensure its changes apply.
