📋 About This Mod
A simple & lightweight mod that makes the Iron armor set to appear less rusty and more reflective. I simply edited the mesh's reflection from 1 to 3 to give it more metallic effect as it should have in vanilla.
This Mod affects:
Iron Helmet
Iron Gauntlets
Iron Cuirass (Normal and Banded)
Iron Shield (Normal and Banded)
INSTALLATION:
Method 1: You can do it manually by putting the files inside your 'Data' Folder
Method 2: You can use your Mod Manager to do it for you
COMPATIBILITY:
-Not compatible with any mods that touches the Iron Armor meshes
-These Nif files are also optimized with Nif Optimizer to prevent random crashes
It is highly recommended to use this with aMidianBorn Book of Silence ARMORS, just make sure to let my mod overwrite the textures.
If you don't want the custom textures that I included (which is based on aMidianBorn book of silence armors) you can still make your Iron Armor shiny by downloading the 'Mesh Only' version.
This supports all races' mesh and both genders.
This is my first mod for Skyrim, It's not much but I just want to share this small modification that I made in case some of you want to use it as well.
This is also my first play through of Skyrim, so... I'm glad to be a part of this community.

A cosmetic retexture for Skyrim's Iron Armor that removes the rust and adds a shiny, reflective finish that responds to in-game lighting. Includes custom textures. For players who want a cleaner, more polished look for early-game armor.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community favorite with 375 endorsements and over 23k downloads
- Simple visual upgrade that makes early-game armor look way better
- Lightweight retexture that won't tank your FPS
⚠️ Cons
- Only affects Iron Armor, so if you're past early game you won't see it much
- Last updated in 2020, so it might not be compatible with newer Skyrim versions or mods
- No before/after screenshots in the description, so you're trusting the author's word on the look
For Skyrim players who hate the rusty look of Iron Armor and want a cleaner, shinier alternative without changing the game's balance. If you're a completionist who uses Iron Armor for fashion or early game, this is a must-have. Skip if you want gameplay changes or if you're using a total overhaul that already retextures Iron Armor.
💡 Beginner Tips
- If you're using a mod manager like Vortex or MO2, just download and install, then enable the plugin in your load order.
- This mod only changes Iron Armor, so if you have another mod that retextures Iron Armor, make sure this one loads after it to see the effect.
- Check the mod's images on the Nexus page to see the exact look before installing, since the description doesn't include screenshots.
