📋 About This Mod
This is some kind of a everlasting WIP project. At least until I get bored by this game ;)
Straight from the Heart Quality overhaul of in-game falling (and windy) leaves and needles effects. Comes in two variants, for an ENB users and for a Vanilla game.
HQ textures and tweaked particles.
Decreased glowing for the Vanilla version.
If you use ENB, the brightness of the leaves can be controlled in the section
How it looks in action, you can see here:
MeLLgJwRcE0
zFDB7RA0JZg
The leaves texture is 1K (4K png files are available in miscellaneous section).
Performance impact - unknown. The particles in the game are semi-transparent and have no depth, so if you use a DoF effect from ENB, they can be blurred, sometimes.
See the images section for a more details :)
Installation:
Install it with a Mod Manager. Overwrite the meshes from Particle Patch.
Like all particle effects in the game, this one also depends on the parameter in SkyrimPrefs.ini:
iMaxDesired =
set it to some reasonable value - 6000 or 7500.
For the best visuals use ENB.
LE Version here :)
Rudy HQ - Falling Leaves and Needles SE is a visual enhancement mod for Skyrim Special Edition that replaces the default falling leaves and pine needle effects with higher quality textures. It removes the unnatural glow from these particles and allows ENB users to control them via the particle section. Available in two versions: one for ENB users and one for vanilla game players, with an alternative green texture option.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Huge community trust with 9,656 endorsements and 3.7M downloads
- Fixes the unrealistic glow on falling particles, making them look more natural
- Offers flexibility with separate ENB and vanilla versions plus an alternate green texture
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2020, so may not be fully compatible with the latest Skyrim SE updates
- Requires ENB for the particle control feature, which is a heavier mod setup
- Only affects falling leaves and needles, so its impact is subtle and limited to specific areas
For Skyrim players who notice and care about small environmental details like falling leaves and want them to look more realistic without the glow. Also for ENB users who want finer control over particle effects. Skip if you're looking for major visual overhauls or don't pay attention to particle effects.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Choose the vanilla version if you don't use ENB, and the ENB version if you do, to avoid compatibility issues.
- If you use ENB, look for the particle settings in the ENB GUI to adjust the intensity of the falling leaves and needles.
- The alternative green texture is great for forest-heavy areas like Falkreath, so try it if the default looks too brown.
