📋 About This Mod
As of Requiem 5. 3. 0, Creation Club jank content has been partially incorporated into base Requiem. I thought the Requiem CC addon made good use of the new armors. However the Creation Club addon requires all of the additional bumfluff content as hard masters.
Originally I made this mod to utilise those CC armor assets without needing the actual plugins as hard masters. Then I actually had a look at the armors and realised that they mostly look like a bagful of horkers anuses so decided to redirect to better armor assets on the Nexus. While I was at it, I also chose a few models for a handful of other unique vanilla/Requiem armor bits that don't have any unique models assigned.
Mainly, I wanted to use armor assets that only involve meshes and utilise your already installed textures for the sake of consistency.
Check out THIS Google sheet for a list of what's what.
INSTALLATION
Some assembly required. You need to download and install the following, so the mesh and textures filepaths are correct:
Armor Variants Expansion
Immersive Armors
Immersive Armors Retexture and Mesh Fixes SE (required for a huge quality improvement and for...)
Immersive Armors - Asdasfa Tweaks & Fixes (meshes & textures from this mod are REQUIRED as they fix many issues and missing models from IA)
Warmonger Armory
Sforzinda's Imitations (Off-Nexus, link is a direct link to the Google Drive download)
Aetherium Armor
Orc Marauder Armor
Barbarian Steel Armor
Mercenary Light Armor
In the case of mods with BSAs (Immersive Armors, Imitations AVE etc) you will need to extract the meshes and textures from the BSAs. All other files, plugins included, can be deleted or hidden. Use your MO's built in extractor or one of those found on the Nexus. Or you can have your MO manage and load the BSA itself (maybe - dunno, I don't do it). If you already use one of the above mods you don't need to do any of that. Also recommend this plugin for MO2 (makes sure to grab the updated version in the comments):
BSA Extractor 2 for MO2
This does NOT require any of the CC content beyond what base Requiem 5. 3+ requires, as the armor records referenced are in the base Requiem plugin. You can use this with the Requiem - Creation Content Addon, just load this after for it to take effect.
WHY U DO ME LIKE DIS? MY INTERNETS DUN' GON' SLOW/AINT DOWNLOADING ALL DEM MODS
I don't have permission to repackage the assets used in this mod, hence you need to download them yourself. I wanted to pick armors that felt like the right fit for the armor or purpose in question. It's difficult to find a single mod or two to cover everything, and I've tried to use mods that
Requiem - Armor Switcheroo is a patch mod that replaces Requiem's added armors with various armor assets, eliminating the need for Creation Club content. With 20 endorsements and 28,650 downloads, it's a niche utility for Requiem players seeking alternative armor visuals.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid download count (28,650) shows real demand despite low endorsements
- Solves a specific pain point: no CC dependency for armor replacements
- Actively maintained with a recent update in April 2025
⚠️ Cons
- Low endorsement count (20) suggests limited community validation
- Description lacks specifics on which armors are replaced or which assets are used
- Potential compatibility issues with other Requiem patches or armor mods
For Requiem players who want to swap out the mod's added armors for different visuals without relying on Creation Club content. If you're happy with Requiem's default armor looks or don't mind CC, this isn't necessary.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Ensure you have Requiem installed and load this patch after it in your load order.
- Check the mod's file structure to confirm it's a simple esp/bsa drop-in; if so, manual install works fine.
- If you use a mod manager, let it handle the file placement to avoid overwriting conflicts.
