Celem tego moda jest uczynienie oświetlenia jak najbardziej “realnym”. Mod nie powinien wpływać na wydajność gry – co więcej, niektórzy użytkownicy wręcz odnotowali wzrost klatek na sekundę. Ten mod nie dodaje nierealnych, fantazyjnych czy bajkowych widoków. Na przykład jeśli w pomieszczeniu jest mało, lub nie ma w ogóle źródeł światła, wnętrze będzie NAPRAWDĘ ciemne.
RDO to tak naprawdę mnóstwo modów złączonych w jedno – wszystko po to, żeby osiągnąć jak najlepsze efekty wizualne, zapewnić kompatybilność z ENB nie obniżając przy tym wydajności. Zmieniono ponad 10,000 źródeł światła i ich ustawienia.
