What does this mod do?
Random Faces of Skyrim – Guards changes that by randomizing their faces and features using hand-picked vanilla presets. This makes Skyrim’s guards look more varied and less like identical copies.
With SkyPatcher, these changes happen seamlessly. Guards are now much less likely to look the same, and their new appearances are saved with your save file, keeping them consistent. Whether you're passing through a city or fighting off a dragon, the guards will have more variety.

📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 307 endorsements and 17,669 downloads
- Lightweight cosmetic fix that doesn't overhaul the game
- Simple concept that directly addresses a common visual annoyance
⚠️ Cons
- Requires SkyPatcher, adding an extra dependency
- Only affects guards, so other NPCs remain unchanged
- Potential compatibility issues with other mods that alter guard appearances
For Skyrim players who notice the repetitive guard faces and want a quick, low-impact fix. If you're looking for a broader NPC overhaul, this isn't it—it's specifically for guards. Skip if you don't mind the sameness or prefer more extensive visual mods.
